Let’s create the change, together
Australia is a unique country. Home to one of the world’s oldest living cultures, the land is also abundant in natural resources, and rich in biodiversity. A lucky country, they say.
But this natural abundance is at risk. We can’t continue to take from the land without giving back.
The time is now to rethink how we plan, design and build new communities in the regions.
With the renewable energy revolution, we can now accelerate the adoption of new circular, regenerative principles as a core requirement for new housing developments in the regions.
CEVCO Life: Core Pillars
-
Ecological Infrastructure
CEVCO promotes adoption of ecological infrastructure as the core basis for any new community. This requires a localised energy supply, local waste management and local water management.
-
Net Positive for Nature
CEVCO advocates for the adoption of planning principles that ensure new developments create net positive outcomes for the local environment. This includes measures to ensure restoration and retention of local wildlife habitat, promotion of a high promotion of localised food supply, and investment in land regeneration efforts.
-
Smart & Resilient
CEVCO advocates for the adoption of smart technologies that promote resilience, connectivity and intelligent land use practices.
Who we are
CEVCO stands for the Circular Economy Villages Cooperative, an initiative established in 2020 by Dr. Steven Liaros and Nilmini de Silva of PolisPlan, in partnership with Will Halliday and Mohammad Khalid.
In 2024 it was re-launched as CEVCO Life, a knowledge sharing and advocacy platform designed to promote circular and regenerative principles for regional development.
